National Wool Week

Back in January 2010, HRH The Prince of Wales announced a cross-industry initiative callled The Campaign for Wool which has led to the formation of a National Wool Week! This runs from 11th-15th October (yes that's tomorrow!) and I have been lucky enough to have been asked to write an article for the Folksy Blog!

You can read the article in full at: http://blog.folksy.com/2010/10/10/national-wool-week-11th-15th-of-october-2010

Folksy will be joining in the celebrations and will be helping to promote National Wool Week by showcasing all things woolly! Look out for knitting, crochet, felting and a selection of woolly themed Featured Sellers!

Unfortunately, due to a technical gremlin, some of the pictures that I had picked to illustrate my article were unable to be used, and so I thought I would post them here so that some more of the woolly sellers of the world get their chance to shine!

You can see examples of:
Wool Roving, Wool Roving combined with Silk, Dyed Woolen Yarn,
Woven Wool, Knitted Wool, Crocheted Wool,
Wet Felting, Needle Felting, and Knitted Wool that has been 'Fulled' (that's deliberately shrunk to you and me!)

If you would like to know more about each item, just click directly on the picture and you should be taken to their Folksy shop!
