Folksy Friday - Competition Winner - Nature!

Brooch by pantsandpaper

As you may or may not know, the theme for this weeks Folksy Friday has been picked by Sam of pantsandpaper as part of the Goody Bag Giveaway blog competition I ran last week.
Sam was the lucky winner and will soon receive her Goody Bag, but while she is waiting she can take a look at these FF picks on the theme of 'Nature'

I've gone with a slightly autumnal theme to the selections as that was also a popular suggestion for a FF topic!

This week, I have managed to make the pictures link directly to the shop where you can buy them from, but just for reference the sellers are:

TOP: Crafty Pagan, comedaygoday, Maggie Cook
BOTTOM: Lynwood Crafts, Tree Gems, Rowan Tree Designs

And the Winner is...

Tonight at 6pm...

From all the entries...

A winner was picked...

Congratulations to Sam from pantsandpaper who has suggested the theme of 'nature' for this week's Folksy Friday, and more importantly has won the free Goody Bag!
A big thankyou to everyone who entered and is now following my blog - keep your eye out on Friday for the finished FF blog post and for many others too!

Coming Soon to a Shop near you...

Today I am extremely excited, and to be honest a little nervous!

Yes, the winner of my Goody Bag Giveaway will be drawn today -

(if you haven't already entered, you've got till 6pm tonight, just follow this link - Goody Bag Giveaway!

- but that isn't what is making me nervous.

Today I have packaged up my very first large-scale custom order, ready to be sent to a brand new boutique that is opening soon in Stratford-Upon-Avon!

The shop is called A Girls Dream - you can find out more about them at www.agirlsdream.co.uk

Later on I will be sending them a selection of my brooches, as well as a couple of the severely endangered Lovebird Wall Art pieces. Some of the designs are new and are not yet available through my Folksy shop, so I thought I might share some of the pics with you!

It is really thrilling to see so many of my items grouped together, and it makes me feel incredibly proud that made by lolly x is going to be available to people in the big bad world! But at the same time it is also a tiny bit depressing thinking that after all the hard work that went into making them, they will soon be sealed in their box and sent away, never to be seen (by me at least) again!

I console myself with the fact that when the shop opens they will be seen by hundreds of new customers and will hopefully soon be sold to someone who appreciates them as much as me!

I'm sure a few quick sales will soon have me grinning again!

Folksy Friday - Lovebirds

Well - can you believe it - it's Friday again already! Time for another Folksy Friday selection!

Today I have decided to share some breaking news with you - Lovebirds are in short supply!

No... not sweet, canoodling couples, but my beautiful decorated textile wall art range! Recently I have found out that the company that I sourced the fabric from no longer produces that design anymore, so apart from the pieces that have already been made - I now only have scraps left. As I have never seen any other fabric like it anywhere, this means that my Lovebirds Range is now Limited Edition!

All of these pieces can be found on Folksy: www.madebylolly.folksy.com

The items all seem to have been extremely popular in terms of the number of people viewing and choosing the items as their favourites - but no one has yet taken the plunge and purchased. I hoping these gorgeous pictures will remind you of what you could be missing if you don't snap one up quick!

I have also found a selection of other Lovebird themed items available on Folksy:

Keeping your chin up!

Card by Accidental Vix
For those of you that have been following my blog for a while now, you will know that recently I was waiting for the postman to arrive with a number of important pieces of information. Now I would like to be dramatic and declare that nothing had yet arrived, but that would not be strictly true!

Some of the items we were waiting for have of course arrived (despite all the problems, Royal Mail aren't that bad!) but the most important things - including my crb check which will allow me to start work - still haven't. This leaves me with a feeling of hanging around, waiting for things to happen, and sometimes despite my best efforts (and the mountain of housework I could be getting on with!) I do get bored and depressed.

So... today I have decided to do a Monty Python, and will try to look on the bright side of life!

I have drawn up a list of some of the things I really, really like and have decided to see if I can find a craft item to match! I anticipate that this may not be as easy as it sounds - I have a wide variety of 'likes' - but I think the challenge will re-affirm all the fabulous things there are in my life, and perhaps more importantly at this moment, stop me from getting bored!

Scarves - Victoria Jackman, Driving - Violet May, Craft - Skull and Cross Buns
MIDDLE:
Cheese/Boyfriend! - Storey Shop, Autumn - ialbert, Buttons - The Little Bead Box
BOTTOM:
Beetroot - Kate Broughton

Well that turned out to be a lot quicker and easier than I first imagined - remarkably, Folksy has quite a few things for sale under the headings 'cheese' and even 'beetroot'!

It just goes to show that sometimes you don't know what you can find until you start looking!

Folksy Friday - The September Stars

'Pink Stitching Circle Brooch'
This week, I have once again taken the plunge and joined in a Folksy listing club. I will now aim to list a new item every day during September! Yes... every day!

Now I must admit that last time I joined in - with the 'July Jesters' - I  probably managed about 18 days out of 31. I'm really hoping that this time I might do a little better! I have tried to get a bit ahead of myself by preparing and photographing a few items in advance, and have lots of ideas in the pipeline...

So far I have started well, three days in, and three items listed, including this newly designed brooch - part of my new 'Jet' Collection.
I have shared my items on the forum, and for the first time have started sharing my items on Facebook too! So far I have had no sales but I am thrilled to report that yesterday, on Day 2, I received my highest number of views in a single day for one item.

This can only bode well!

In the spirit of promotion I have dedicated today's Folksy Friday to a few of my fellow 'September Stars'.
I hope that you like my choices!
